Our reputation is of utmost importance to us, and we believe that membership and involvement with professional bodies within the field of safety, brings enormous benefits to you, our customers.
We have summarised these affiliations below, and included some specific details of initiatives we are either involved with or actively promoting through our business.
We would be happy to discuss any of these at your convenience.
Member of the Baby Products Association:
Membership of the Baby Products Association is not automatic for suppliers within the nursery sector. Fully paid up membership however, brings us important information regarding changes happening within the industry, especially with regard to developing standards. It also allows us to feedback through them. We think it is important for our clients to be aware of any issues surrounding safety items and so believe it is in their interest for us to retain membership.
Member of the British Standards Institute:
The whole foundation of the basis for safe products leads from BSI. In our independent testing of safety gates, we chose the same test house as is used and recommended to us by BSI. There is no other supplier who has chosen to independently test products for which controversy exists. (See RoSPA random test results). This is a costly exercise, however we believe it can only be in our client’s best interests to do so.
Associate Member of the Institute of Road Safety Officers:
The IRSO is an invaluable source of information, initiatives and best practice for improving Road safety. They provide guidance on present and pending legislation at a national and local level through training and workshop activities.
Member of RoSPA:
RoSPA are one of the leading charitable organizations relating to safety both in the home, in the workplace and on the roads. Membership makes data, information, training opportunities and initiatives available to us, which can very often be useful to our customers. We regularly attend the RoSPA congresses and make available, an executive summary for the benefit of our clients.
Executive Member of the Institute of Home Safety:
Carol is currently Chair and communications officer for the Institute, and is privileged to have the opportunity to attend National Home Safety Meetings on the IHS’s behalf. Again, this has bought home some of the challenges faced by the projects, enabling Kid Rapt to best offer solutions that could benefit our clients.
It is only by attending safety meetings can we offer practical solutions to some of these types of issues.
Suppliers to RoSPA and CAPT:
We have been privileged in the past to have been asked to provide equipment to both the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the Child Accident Prevention trust. This gives you, our clients, the reassurance that you can obtain references from the countries two leading accident prevention groups, about our performance.
FSID:
The FSID is the UK’s leading baby charity aiming to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and to promote infant health. We value the knowledge and experience that FSID has in this field which is why we gladly work with them to promote their press releases and literature. The FSID also receives Child Safety information from Kid Rapt by way of our monthly newsletters.
